Cory Beard is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Missouri- Kansas City. His research areas involve the prioritization of communications for emergency purposes. This work has involved 4G/5G cellular networks for public safety groups, MAC layer performance evaluation, connection preemption and network slicing, and Internet traffic prioritization. His work has included a National Science Foundation CAREER Award.
